Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Laos
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton visits the COPE center in Vientiane, Lao, PDR, July 11, 2012. The center provides artificial prostheses and rehabilitative care to people, including survivors of cluster bomb accidents. Here she listens as Mr. Soksai Sengvongkham shows a display of homemade limbs that survivors have used in the past.

Secretary Clinton examines a map showing the concentrations of U.S. bombing missions over Laos during the 9-year secret air war (1964-1973). The U.S. flew more than 580,000 bombing missions over Laos, an average of 1 bombing mission every 8 minutes around the clock for 9 full years.
During her visit, Secretary Clinton pledged to "do more" on behalf of cluster bomb survivors in the Lao PDR.
